Boring and long movie. OK the movie looks good like the performances but such a slow western movie it's not my cup of tea, many dialogues and almost no action. I had to push the pause buttom of my DVD-recorder many times and I was glad the movie eventually was finished, I was a little disappointed. I'm really amazed this movie gets so high scores.

Visual poetry, and let me also say the following: had this been 30 min shorter, it would have been my favorite film of 2007.

In a film which gives away the ending in the title, you are expecting something special in the journey. TAOJJBTCRF kind of dangles this substance in front of your face throughout the film only to snatch it away from you. This is a filmmaker's film, with some beautifully shot scenes, intelligent writing and interesting pacing, but for me, it lagged at times, the characters flip-flopped their intent and the payoff was less than satisfactory. A well made film with flaws from a consumer viewpoint.

Loved it! Casey Affleck is terrific as "the dirty little coward that shot mr Howar", and more of a tortured soul than a coward in my mind. It's long but actually kind of fast paced. It helps that one of my favorites Sam Rockwell is in it as well. And I'd wait 2 and a half hours for Zooey Deschanel any day.

Such a well told story. Don't go into this expecting a western or an action story of some sort because there is no action and it is more of a time piece than a western. There were several tense moments that had me on the edge of my seat. Awesome cast all the way around, with no weakness from the cast. The movie does tend to get a little slow in the middle, but it does pick up steam and has you guessing what is going to happen right around the corner, even though we all have a good idea what

A beautiful and haunting twist on the Western. Aw, hell, what Western movies made in the last decade AREN'T twists on the Western? 3:10 to Yuma, I guess. Not much else. Whatever! Casey Affleck plays a loser brilliantly.

Like Citizen Kane, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and It's a Wonderful Life before it, this film will be underestimated and underappreciated in the immediate future and the short time since its release. However, time will show that this film, with all of its elements of acting, story, cinematography, score, etc will be recognized as one of the great gems to come out of the world of cinema over the last decade or so.

So purdy. Should have stopped -you know when-. Although I would rather have seen the four hour version. Couldn't really get over the idea of Jesse James arriving at the set in a Toyota Hybrid; as though today a realistic western is an oxymoron.

A work of art. Great tension and beauty throughout. This is by far the best performance I've seen from Brad Pitt. There's almost unbearable tension when he's on screen, and he doesn't even have to say a word. Masterful.

Lusciously presented character study, featuring an outstandingly awkward performance from Affleck and some engrossing scenes, but the overarching story leaves me cold. The cinematography and soundtrack are certainly a bewitching combination, sadly the plot doesn't fully capitalise on the mood they generate. Striking, but not fulfilling.

Get ready for a long 'ride', this movie is exceptionally long and slow. If it wasn't for the performance of Casey Affleck, I couldn't finish watching this movie. The first hour is ok, the 2nd hr boring as hell, the best part (last 20 minutes) is the actual assassination and the aftermath (if you're still awake to see it).

Beautifully done. Superbly creepy, sycophantic performance by Affleck. Visually striking. I actually did not have a problem with the pacing or length of the movie at all. I thought it was exactly as long as it should have been, given the scope of the story and the amount of characters. The only thing that I wasn't impressed with was Pitt. Yeah, he's got the "outlaw cool" look down, no doubt. But he's not nearly as charasmatic as the movie pretends he is, or as James NEEDS to be. Still great.

The title matches the movies length exactly - they are both way too long. However, the film is still pretty good. Pitt and Affleck are both excellent and it is nice to see a good western being made in 07. The cinematography is glorious and Dominik should be even better next time around.

Even though the film has one of the worst titles in film history the film itself is pretty good. This film has a lot of great acting and the story is very compelling. I wish there were more westerners, like this one, today.

It's not a good idea to make a long and text-heavy movie, when the text is so mediocre and only occasionally interesting. The very slick, studio standard look of it is not my idea of good cinematography, and the Nick Cave string section soundtrack is predictably stale. Brad Pitt, a good actor, is badly directed and fails to be as menacing as implied by the other characters' reactions. Contrary to popular opinion, this movie sucks.
