Summary: In the far and distant future of 1968, many ships and planes are crossing the North pole to transport passengers and cargo. However lately more than eight ships and seven submarines have vanished mysteriously. The Tigershark is sent out to investigate their whereabouts and - if possible - remove the cause of their disappearance. Visually dynamic and just chock-full of interesting - if goofy - ideas.

The first two acts are kind of weak. There's nothing really happening, the characters are uninteresting, the dialogue is mediocre. But then they enter the ship and holy shit...I got flashbacks to Eraserhead. It's fantastic. If you like old 50s Sci-Fi it's a must see.

Not very fun, all build-up for very little payoff. Hardly anything happens for the first 75% of the film. The alien is hilarious, though, and may well be the inspiration for Kang and Kodos from "The Simpsons". I also appreciated how the conflict between scientists & the military was far more sophisticated than, say, The Thing from Another World.

This Alex Gordon production is hampered by its low budget but has a terrific B-movie cast (the ever-glowering Franz, likable Foran, and suave Tom Conway are best, though the platinum-tressed Joi Lansing is wasted) and a pretty cool puppet-monster.
