Summary: Tom Newcliffe, a rich businessman and expert hunter summons six guests to his huge country estate which he has rigged up with video cameras and a high-tech security system. He tells them and his surprised wife that they are all to stay over a weekend and that all of them will be kept on the estate during that weekend. For each guest, dead bodies have followed in their wake and the way that the dead have been murdered means that one of the guest is a werewolf and Tom has summoned his guests here to discover who it is and to hunt it down.(imdb)

"This B-movie werewolf tale from British horror studio Amicus was a blatant attempt to compete with their equally low-budget competitor AIP studios." - Jeremiah Kipp

I was expecting great things when the movie announced early on that there would be a "Werewolf Break" late in the movie. Sadly, the rest of "The Beast Must Die" doesn't quite live up to that gag. It's not awful, but the pacing drags and the story isn't very engaging. That said, the movie did a good job of keeping me guessing who might be the werewolf.

Lockhart hams it up unmercifully from time to time--but nothing like his girlfriend, who overacts relentlessly throughout.

Surprisingly fresh and original for a werewolf movie. Again we have a black lead and nobody seems to care that he's black, which is the perfect way to handle it. Not much of a mystery film though, I guess the killer once the character was introduced.
