Summary: Francious Villion is a poet, lover, fighter, and fool. After offending Louis XI, he is banished from Paris, but upon returning he is sentenced to death. By claiming his life is tied to him and the king would die within 24 hours of his own death, he is spared. At the same time, the Duke of Burgundy plans to take over Paris by marrying Louis' daughter.
