Aimless and uninvolving. Perhaps the jumpy plot progression was intentional, but somehow it comes across as though there were production and/or editing problems that badly affected the movie as a whole. This feeling is reinforced by the extremely perfunctory denouement.

I remember it was a movie, and I saw it and it had these actors in it, but nothing else besides that.

The classic "great cast" film. There's a few good lines here and there, but there's no semblance of a good film. I'd been looking forward to this and it fell completely flat.

Dumb and poorly directed.

Owen Wilson's a real charmer -- I enjoy his presence, even when the movie built around him is a thinly plotted heist film without the heist. In the end, the movie goes nowhere, but it's kind of fun getting there.

Yawn. Hot girl. Yawn.

This is one of those times that transferring a Leonard novel to the big screen misses by a country mile. There are some almost there performances in this one, but everyone seems like they're doing a high school film project, yukking it up and just not taking it seriously at all.

A caper movie that I think was made just so the cast and crew could have a working vacation in Hawaii. One or two good scenes, but otherwise not much here

They got a good cast together to make this film, but it's all for naught. The actors are mostly naturally charming, including Foster, who has good screen-presence even if her career, like this film, never went anywhere. I typically like Leonard adaptations, as it's hard to screw up his dialog, but this one just comes off flat. A dull and forgettable viewing experience.

It has an script very badly prepared, a very predictable story, it might have more creativity.

It ends up being all style and no substance, and while the ending does go some way towards tying it all together, it's still nowhere near entertaining enough. Relocating the cast to a different movie would probably have made a much better film.

not terrible, but not good

It's kind of fun at times but pretty silly. Not especially bad, but pretty forgettable.
