It's almost as if Joel and Ethan have developed their own sect of dark comedy. They are able to piece together sheer nonsense like an intricate jigsaw. Not to mention this contains the best compilation of characters to EVER grace a comedy.

I originally wrote some spiel about this in my mini review, but there's really no point. Here's what you should know: it's fucking awesome and it's fucking funny.

I decided to give this a rewatch given that it gets so much love on the internet. However my opinion ultimately remains unchanged. The Coens have made better and more coherant comedies. Now that's not to say this is bad, it's got a great cast that make superb characters but it never really comes together when compared to their other films, comedy or otherwise. Still I can appreciate why it's so quotable because it does have some great lines.

The hillarious, albeit foul-mouthed dialogue, drives this Coen Brothers shaggy dog story of mistaken identity.

A cult classic I would like more if the actual cult wasn't a pack of douchebags.

Every moment of dialog will make you laugh till you cry. Every character, even the minor characters, add to the humor of the film; from the tubby, socially awkward landlord with an interpretive dance hobby, to the child molesting bowling nemesis ironically named Jesus. The Coen brothers have a brilliant knack for taking characters from every walk of life, throwing them together in a tangled web of a plot, and exploiting their moral shortcomings to create pure comedy. This film is perfect.

Jeff Bridges é o cara

Funny, crazy, fun film. I don't understand the buzz about this being so great, its a solid movie, but not to the degree some people claim it to be. I guess I expected more from this seeing all the hype it got. Nevertheless its a great film.
