This is one of Maurice Chevalier lesser films during this era. Probable the main reason for that is that it's some guy called Hobart Henley in the directors chair and not Ernst Lubitsch or Rouben Mamoulian handling the business getting the best out of him. Not that Chevalier is helpless without a star director. He still demands the screen with his overly-charming ways and makes this mockery more then watchable. Plus he sings the adorable "You Brought a New Kind of Love to Me".
