Different type of film and I don't want to spend the time trying to explain how so. It was, however, another good performance by Susumu Terajima, one of the few films I've seen with him as the main character. As you watch the film, not much makes sense, and in the last moments of the film, it comes together, yet it still doesn't really answer wtf's going on.
