This must've been one of the first horror movies I've ever seen and I still vividly remember most scenes. The Blob is a classic flick that (naturally) cannot measure up in today's age. It's still kinda endearing and corny enough to elicit a few good chuckles, and if you have the chance, I recommend a double feature with the awesome, gross-out 80s remake.

"The Blob" is a fun monster movie that manages to be tense (at least in the beginning) and entertaining with generally good performances, characters, and camerawork. It's cheesy, but it's way better than it's rep would lead you to believe. The theme music is probably the most ridiculous part.

The teens being ignored by the police because they're just silly teenagers with their practical jokes and whatnot is played above and beyond breaking point to the extent that you end up almost screaming at the TV. The film is extremely cheesy without being desperately fun but instead mostly being quite annoying. There are a few entertaining bits and the blob slipping under doors and sliding through gratings is very cool but for the most part it is just very dull.

Dopey but in an endearing way. Steve McQueen makes a surprisingly bad romantic lead, ignoring his date half the time and obsessing over this fat chick who can't stop eating for the other half.

Classic 50's Sci-Fi. Fun all around. Love the movie theatre sequence.

"Now let's see who's really been killing all those people." *reveal* "The Blob?!?" "And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids, and that dog!" My PSI was way low on this one. I love the incredible 50s creature feature cheesiness that pervades the entire work.

it's one of the numerous ludicrous monster movies that may have once caused quite a terror among it's audience, but today's movie goers will find it cheesy kitschy and subsequently to a degree that is utterly humorous. mcqueen is a waste of screen time and even standing as one of the most widely remembered monster movies out of the era you're time would be better spent elsewhere.

Silly little '50s horror film about strawberry jam that kills people. Kind of panders to teenagers without actually casting any of them, by positioning the kids as being the only voices of reason when surrounded by skeptical adults. Steve McQueen looks every one of his 28 (at the time) years, which complicates him playing a teenager. Accidentally becomes relevant for modern times with the last line. Still, it's cheap and silly, valuable only for the kitsch.

Hey it's not the best movie ever made, but The Blob is by far one the coolest 'monsters' ever!

Fifties camp classic. Not as good as you'd like it to be, with a slow pace and a stilted supporting cast, but that one-of-a-kind monster and catchy Burt Bacharach theme make it a watchable neo-classic of its era.

One of the great underrated films of all time. I love the fact that this unfolds completely at night, mostly outdoors and practically in real time. It also has, when you think about it, one of the best depictions of an alien life form ever put on film. What could get further away from a drooling, anthropomorphized creature than a crawling, pitiless blob? Superb!
