Summary: Buster's handmade boat, The Damfino, is finished and is, of course, too large to get through the basement door. When he drives off with it in tow, the side of his house, then the whole thing, collapses. At the harbor he rides the boat out only to have it sink beneath him. The rest is a series of adventures he and his family have with the restored boat. (imdb)

Nothing here to write home about. Inspired a few chuckles at best.

I feel the same way about Buster Keaton as I do about the Marx Brothers. He doesn't make me laugh out loud, but his proficiency astounds me. Keaton's adroitness with blocking, staging, and timing amazes me every time.

this one has got some laughs missing in it and it seems somewhat slow. it could have easily had about half of it trimmed down and still not lived up to the best of keaton's work.

This short, that was lost for long time, is more dramatic than comic. Drama isn't strong side of Buster, so this film is a bit below average.

The first reel is great, the second one not so much, except the last line: "Where are We?" "Dam f i no."

A disappointing film whose comedy is mostly forced and drama is not particularly sympathetic.

Another lost Keaton film found. I have to wonder if Keaton wouldn't have been happer if this one had remained lost. The only humor that got a chuckle from me were the "Damfino" gags.

One of Keaton's most technically impressive set pieces, played to gag perfection. One of the few silents where I can say I loved the last line of dialogue.
