A good cast and some knowing homages to B horror and sci-fi films of the past make this forgettable flick a harmless watch.

Close, but no cigar. The gag here is that the alien has been devolved to human form, and his head keeps blowing up, so he has to keep going around replacing his defective head with whatever human head is handy. The actors try real hard, but you can clearly see that the alien has somehow turned into the same height as his latest victim, has the same color skin on his hands, etc.; this crew just didn't have either the budget or the tech to bring off this concept convincingly
