Had low expectations, so it was satisfying.
I liked that it was more realistic in terms of "tracking/surveilance" than before. That being said, its nowhere near the trioligy.
The bigges let-downs: -Lacked the major one-on-one fight scenes its prequels had.
-Lacked the calm, calculated and logical movements Damon/Bourne was knows for in tight situations.

First half of the movie drags like crazy, and there's little payoff as the plot is much simpler even than the prior films' and the characters are cutouts. The second half picks up with some effective action sequences before skidding to a halt with a non-ending. Even if this is just a "part one" for a new trilogy, Legacy brings nothing new or even all that interesting to the series.

Surprisingly decent due to intense chemistry between Renner and Weisz - plus Željko Ivanek's show stealing slaughtering scene. Still, it doesn't change the fact that this is one of the most unnecessary sequels in recent times forced to life by the eagerness to milk the cash cow with Gilroy far from succeeding in developing the Bourne universe in a sufficiently fascinating post Ultimatum must-see fashion. Call me when Greengrass and Damon are back.

I liked it!!! Not brilliant nor worth seeing twice, but from what I expected by seeing the former ones and knowing the genre, I was prepared for hard crap and leaving the theatre sooner. Jeremy Renner is much better for the lead roll.

We're not given a lot of new aspects of the Bourne storyline to work with here. What this seems to lack is that more suspenseful noir spy aspect of the first few Bourne films. We have the same "fugitive" storyline but it seems to be anchored in mostly over the top (by Bourne standards) James Bond like action set pieces. Doug Liman and Paul Greengrass seemed to be better at setting this series up as mostly a thriller. Renner is serviceable but pretty vanilla boring for this type of role.

The plot complexity falls off significantly in this one, as does my investment in the characters. The action and stunts are every bit as compelling as the first three, but without and overriding mystery to solve the story falls a little flat. The pacing is also much slower with nearly 30 minutes of film passed before anything exciting happens. The end result is a film that has moved from intelligent spy mystery towards straight up action.

Excellent esponiage film. Already severely underrated. Yes, you will have to turn your brain on and think, for a change, as it is quite complex and sometimes hard to follow. Both Renner and Weisz are on top of their game and deliver. Pacing is spot on and Gilroy is yet again great. The previous Bourne films were all good, but on a different level. I actually prefer 'Legacy'. There I said it. And to you who complain Bourne isn't in it, no shit, really? Renner is a worthy successor.

Passes the time and entertains in spurts with some of its action scenes, and with a few cases of bad and laughable writing as well. It begins rather uninterestingly, but Weisz and Renner eventually more or less save the film. Cross is cooler than Bourne, but Gilroy is no Greengrass.

The trailer's tag line "he's treadstone without the inconsistency" isnt even about Jeremy Renner; which sucks, because the character had potential and the movie's entertaining enough but you just cant shake off that feeling of it being a spinoff.

Accepting that knowledge from the first three movies helps, and that this is a setup for movies to come, the overall story makes sense and has potential for a good blockbuster and an expanding franchise.
What we're getting is a movie that likes to talk and gives us some overlong monologues and unnecessary scenes, and when it's time to walk most of the action-scenes are letdowns - and I do hate shaky cam and fast cutting action when used to hide lazyness/incompetence...
*P*: #12#, hype, story.

It's almost avant-garde in the way it just throws you into the movie and expects you to understand all the pseudo-science jargon and conspiracy plot points they throw at you, and then jumps from scene to scene with no transition. Eventually I figured out that it's about a super soldier who teams up with a doctor so he can get drugs while the CIA is trying to kill them. There's the whole movie, a wolf blows up, good times.

It is all quite engaging, up until the last thirty minutes or so, when this smart, tense movie becomes a very, very long chase scene. If you dig chase scenes, this is probably the climax of the film, but I find them to be mostly a drag, and there is really nothing to separate this one from any of the others I’ve seen in recent years. It is a disappointing resolution to a pretty cool story, but not disappointing enough to erase my mostly good feelings about this picture.

It's decent. It's a little too slow and often feels too similar to themes of the original trilogy. Could have used more Renner (in both action and story) as they seemed to tell most of his story with the characters that were chasing him. I get why they did that with the amnesiac Jason Bourne but Aaron Cross knew his past.

Well, I liked the new leads, and Asian Terminator, but that short chase scene is probably one of the few things I will remember about this in the coming months. Could have been one of the better action movies of the year, but it spends more time building up to its sequels than it does being engaging on its own merits.

Jeremy Renner is far less amusing to watch than I remember him being in the Avengers, in addition the story is so generic that I've already forgotten what happens in it, the chase and fights scenes are a bit of a mess to watch because the camera shakes clumsily around to ensure you have no clue where anything is.

Lacks almost everything that a Bourne movie is supposed to have. First of all, it is not a Bourne movie, it is just another action flick. Argument 2, Matt Damon was badly, utterly missed. Point 3, the humane touch of Bourne is nowhere to be seen. The only humane feeling I got is when Moby's song did hit up.Yeah, the ending. The central character is more like a robotic, stiff version of Bourne. The same thing is with Edward Norton as well. The star of this film is Rachel Weisz who stole the show.

There's little to recommend here beyond some engaging cinematography, especially in the film's first half. Great actors do little to liven up a desperate attempt at holding onto a franchise. The story could have been interesting, but Renner (a gifted pre-star) is given a character of little pursuit and even less intensity. The protagonist is after pills and the government is shady. Give us more than that Universal Studios, or give us back Matt Damon, or simply grant a cash cow a peaceful death.

People's expectations were too high for this one. It's not that bad. Granted, they are clearly trying to suck more money based on the name of one of the greatest trilogies of all time. That said, I was pretty entertained. True, the plot was pretty stupid but I will never not enjoy one guy beating the shit out of groups of people single handedly. It's just a difficult thing to fuck up. Jeremy Renner is a great action star

It is really good they decided to follow another line instead of just replacing amazing Matt. The Bourne Legacy might look too slow at times and suffer from the plot weakness. However, the story in general looks pretty OK to follow any new direction with real Bourne involved?

The Bourne Legacy is the best of the Bourne movies. Jeremy Renner plays a good character that makes you want to care about. Really fun action and great techno-jargon.

Gilroy's trip to the director's chair is more Greengrass than Liman and decidedly for the worse. While the reboot borrows equal parts for all three of the previous Bourne narratives, the stakes are never really worth caring about and twists just aren't that twisty. Save for a fantastic cast, some captivating spy-novel dialogue and one fantastic action sequence this movie is a dud.

I guess it's a watchable entry in the 'guy and girl running away from people with guns, interwoven with scenes where dudes discuss things in rooms with too many monitoring screens'-genre.
