Charmingly awful little flick, rife with technophobic anxiety and questionable acting. The lengthy and hamhandedly poetic dialogue scenes between the severed head and the lab assistent are worth the price of admission alone. Despite the titular brains request to let it die, the material was brought back in Henenlotters quasi-remake "Frankenhooker".

A watershed moment of aged 60's sci fi bizareness. The MST3K version is gold.

Could be historically interesting. Probably one of the earliest instances of the head in a pan seeking its body. The film seems to be low-budget and doesn't really work very well. As I say, may be of historical interest only.

Grisly thriller is a favorite of bad movie lovers.

Not that engaging, and definitely not that well acted, but the ideas are interesting enough.

A tacky, tasteless, ludicrous piece of trash -- in other words, a must-see! A Martin Scorsese favorite.

LOL, "Our Bodies, Ourselves" NOT! If nothing else, this is a hilarious assault on the "male gaze", and it should be embraced and cited by feminists everywhere as early evidence of what we boys are really thinking.

I thought it was pretty good for it's time, and even though production costs can't compare to those today, I think they did a decent job with what they had. Other than that beast, which was, well, beastly!

El Cheapo production. One of the first really gory films of this kind, yet awfully silly (definitely better on MST3K)

I remember watching this as a child and also remember the nightmares afterward.The disembodied head in the tray hed a hold on me! Watched it as an adult and was a little disappointed.

Underrated. Several creepy and wierd scenes throughout. Bunches of things to keep you involved into the movie (WHAT THE FUCK IS BEHIND THE DOOR), yet its pretty damn cheesy, like all sci-fi/horror movies from this era.

Fills too much time with endless TV soap opera drama (1958 style), along with a moral saying that organ transplants are the devil's work and just let people die. Some of the sleaze is laid on pretty thick though and it's unfortunate that the nudie footage is reportedly lost.

Campy and with obvious effects, but it's enjoyable for most of it's runtime. A minor classic.
