Certainly more melodrama than horror, but well photographed and doesn't get a fair shake from horror fans. Beals is captivating.

Valiant effort which creates a plausible scenario with a fresh ending, but is still a few implausibilities away from making it just right. Though while the opening sequence is superb, the rest of the film's production design is rather flat and never quite reaches that same crescendo. Still, I recommend it as novel alternative to Shelley's tale.

This is better than it has any reason to be.

What might have happened if, in the original _Bride of Frankenstein_, the rejected Monster *hadn't* given in to his rage and blown up the lab but instead had gone off to "find himself" and granted his intended mate time to do likewise? Though it runs on about a reel too long, this addresses these issues in a genuinely entertaining and imaginative way. Watch it with someone you love.

Profoundly misguided attempt at "quality horror". "Charles Frankenstein"? Bwhahaha. I'm not sure whether that or "Gabriel van Helsing" in _Van Helsing_ is worse

Pretty cheese, but Jennifer Beals is probably the hottest Bride of Frankenstein ever.
