Summary: A young teacher on her way to a position in Transylvania helps a young man escape the shackles his mother has put on him. In so doing she innocently unleashes the horrors of the undead once again on the populace, including those at her school for ladies. Luckily for some, Dr Van Helsing is already on his way. (imdb)

Really sells the idea of vampirism-as-public-health-concern common throughout the Hammer Dracula movies. The film lacks a villain as strong as the previous film's Dracula, but it makes up for it in quantity, the good Baron is just a tad indiscriminate in his appetite giving Peter Cushing LOTS to do. There's also all that creepy psychosexual stuff going on, adding a nice exploitative icing. It's also nicer to look at than the first film, the lighting, color and photography set the mood very well.

it's got some weird plot holes and stuff, but Cushing is fantastic, and it has the most badass action scenes of any Hammer horror flick. and i kinda like that we got a sweet dracula sequel that dracula isn't even in.

The first documented case of a giant shadow of a cross killing a vampire? But once again Hammer knows how to pick its vampire victims and vixens. I'll take a bite...

They couldn't get Christopher Lee to play Dracula again right away, so they made this. Not bad

A sumptuous production rich in color and detail, this has top-flight acting from a super cast and boldly touches on elements of incest, lesbianism, homosexuality, and other theretofore unexplored aspects of the vampire condition.
