Oh wow, 27 PSI. Just like with The Fall, I cannot understand how anyone can come from Tarsem's films without at least the sense that hey, that was probably the most visually unique and stunning film I've seen in years. I certainly like The Fall more, if only because the acting in this is god-awful (and not only by Ms. Lopez), the music here is less memorable and the story less epic. Still, I've only seen serial killer done better than this in The Silence of the Lambs and Se7en. 27? Really? No.

Story wasn't the greatest, acting was okay, but the imagery was incredible and I basically chilled out for 2 hours with nothing but that. Still found it quite enjoyable.

One of the most gorgeous horror movies ever

Disorienting and horrifying. Great cinematography and set work filled with symbolism and mystery feels more like watching a grim dance than a film. The movie is surreal, even in scenes that are supposed to take place in the real world. The writing is somewhat sub-par, but what drags the movie down is the acting of Vaughn and Lopez, which sadly seem to pull us back into reality. It's good, but could simply have been much better.

An interesting idea that was executed poorly.

Tarsem Singh is good at one thing..eye candy and amazing cinematic visuals but like with all his films there is little substance there once you uncover the glittering wrapping. Still, there's enough to like about The Cell to warrant a look if you can ignore the fact that the entire thing is a star vehicle for J-Lo who is more than a little unconvincing in her role.
