The Lion, the Witch, No Wardrobe maintains the medium-high standard of its forerunner, higher, that is, than the standards of such close-by epic cycles as the Lord of the Rings series and the Harry Potter series. The narrative elements seem somehow to have more heft, more harmony, more resonance, and the individual installments demonstrably stand more solidly on their own.

The Narnia series will go down as a "just missed" trilogy. It has most of the pieces but it just misses on being something really special.

Imagry's great, story's okay, not near as good as LWW and is WAY too long.

Doesn't have the benefit of the sense of wonder the first movie had. Tries even harder to be a Lord of the Rings for kids; many shots are lifted straight from Two Towers/ROTK. Caspian is what ruined it for me; he seems older and more arrogant than I remember in the book. Deviates from the book more than the first, but I can forgive that as the book was a poor entry in the Chronicles. Watchable, but hoping Dawn Treader will be where this series truly shines.

I was expecting to hate this based on reviews I had read, but it's actually thoroughly enjoyable. It's a bit of a "turn your brain off" film and yes, it does have quite a few little plot holes dotted about, but should that stop us simply enjoying it? It has likeable characters, some great action and effects, and it just makes for a good watch. It's not award winning material but it never tries to be and it shouldn't be judged as such; it's just fun.

It was merely boring until Bodysurfing Jesus turned up at the end - that was when it tipped into the "awful" bracket. It's more bloated and over-wrought than the first film. The battle sequences go on forever and I really didn't understand why I was supposed to give a shit about Prince Caspian (or any other character, really). The annoying beavers from the first film are replaced with even more annoying mice (rip-offs of Puss in Boots from the Shrek films, only less funny).

Better than the first, awesome when it's original (well, itself), laughable when it attempts to be Lord of the Rings. So overall it was pretty cool.

this movie just sucked. god I hope the third is better than this bland bullcrap.

Severe shortage of likeable characters, random things happening that are never explained, smugly religious subtext. This movie is a waste of time.

Lion Jesus to the rescue! These films would probably be better if the kids weren't bloody annoying. Not terrible, the actions pretty damned good, but not great. And the Susan/Caspian love story is just weird. He LOOKS a LOT older than she is and it's a 7 year age gap. Yeah she was 20 when the film came out but she looks about 12 to me...
