It is probably too much to expect very many new insights with a topic such as this, but through the choice of interview subjects this documentary proves more interesting than most (the couple who had been together for twenty years being the standout). My impression is that amphetamines in general seem to hold users in the grip of a more violent emotional torture than other narcotics. At least some reflection on the impact of current policing and incarceration policies would have been beneficial.

Meh, it's quite sad to see people who are so caught up in the drug stuff, that they can't get out.

Certainly one of Louis' better documentary. It's really sad to see how horrible meth can make the lives of people and though (some) may obviously want to quit they just can't seem to keep away from the stuff. Though it's equally tragic to see people who voluntarily continue in the lifestyle. As usual Louis refrains from passage harsh judgment on his subjects and instead makes non-combative, but valid, criticism where necessary to get honest answers.

This TV documentary offers some interesting insight about people affected by one of the shittiest drugs available. Theroux carries on with his usual communication style and gets people to really open up. This is one of the better docus of his.
