This is great storytelling; one of the best spy thrillers I've ever seen. It's refreshing that the film manages to avoid relying on one death-proof superspy, instead favoring a far more nuanced and long-term view of espionage in Europe and the Americas. This is what The Good Shepherd should have been, rather than the excruciatingly boring film it turned out to be.
