Summary: The movie centers on a piano competition whose winner is assured of success. It is Paul's last chance to compete, but newcomer Heidi may be a better pianist. Can romance be far away? Will she take a dive despite the pressure to win from her teacher, Greta, or will she condemn Paul to obscurity? (imdb)

Yet another extremely difficult movie to rate. In many ways, it's terrible, yet it's so bad it's almost a camp classic. The writers knew just enough about music to give the characters lines that are truly ridiculous if you know anything about classical music. As a classical pianist, I find this movie utterly hilarious, and most of it is clearly unintentional--almost all of the intentionally funny lines are giving to Lee Remick, who delivers them with verve, despite their total cheesiness.
