Pointless mess of a film that once again fails to use Chow Yun Fat properly. Mark Wahlberg has a wooden "too cool for school" facial expression in most of this film. The script is completely terrible trash and i'm not sure why they thought this would be a good dramatic vehicle to feature Chow Yun Fat and Mark Wahlberg together.

Poor.

Chow Yun Fat is a phenomenal actor who gained his reputation in crime/gangster films, but he can only do so much. The flick itself is filled with cliches and pointless scenes, none worse than the ones with the generic-looking blonde who can't act her way out of a speeding ticket. The action sucks, the dialogue blow, and even their pathetic attempts at one-liners fail miserably. If not for Yun-Fat, this would be all-time bad. As it is, he elevates the flick to merely "garbage".

The Corruptor isn't anything special. It doesn't have great or interesting action scenes (they're well-made but lacking in variety), the characters aren't developed at all, and any attempt at depth falls flat. But I still enjoyed it because it was set in a somewhat unique location and because it had a few surprises that kept it feeling fresh. Sometimes, you just want to sit back and watch a brainless action movie. It's not a great film, but it's not a waste of time, either.

I really like Chow Yun Fat so I probably rated this higher than I should. It is slow, boring and lazy.

Had a great time but that's because of the company, not the crappy frequently unintelligible dialogue & over focus on plot & giant faces. A solid car chase with bystander snuff action & a couple loud gunfights break up the waiting around. Stupid transitional shots, dumb ending.
