Summary: The latest UFO, a white globe levitating in a California canyon, is investigated by the Air Force, aided by physicist Karl Sorensen. Just big enough for one "man", the object seems impenetrable, but that night a half-invisible being visits the town, and a strange bundled-up man takes a room at Angela Green's mountain lodge, the investigators' headquarters. Sorensen thinks the Cosmic Man is benevolent, but to the colonel he represents either danger...or military advantage. (imdb)

Sort of quintessential 50s sci-fi, not because it's particularly good but because it has all the elements: stilted speaking alien, monologuing scientists, single mom with a gee-whiz crippled kid. It's a dictionary of cliches. That said, there's a few really cool visual elements; most notably that wonderful orb of a ship.

A low-budget spaceman flick from the '50s starring Carradine as the alien sounds like fun but this talky _Day the Earth Stood Still_ imitation is just competent enough to be boring. For hardcore Carradine fans only.
