An interesting imagining of a what if scenario.. which will have problems holding people's attention because of its length and seemingly pointless meandering at times. The face effects are perfect and I think that maybe too much effort went into getting that right that the story/writing seems to have not been polished to its full potential. Still a good effort that fails to engage you emotionally all the way through.

It's like a less interesting Forrest Gump.

Its a gentle fell good movie with stunning CGI and performances.

i liked this movie, but couldnt imagine watching it more then once.

A great movie. Watching it immersed me so completely in the life of Benjamin Button that it felt strange coming back to the real world and my own life. A splendid piece of storytelling that artistically portrays, well, universal elements of life.

Doesn't do much with a novel premise. That said, I think it's an admirable lifetime picture. The sincerity, the utmost care with which Fincher treats this unique specimen, makes the film work. Not remarkable then, but neither was Button's own life, no more than any other.

The central fantasy conceit -- a man is born old, and gets younger at the same rate everybody else ages -- is not particularly original or interesting, and it isn't handled in an especially dramatic or clever way. This movie is a big ol' wannabe-_Forrest Gump_, right down to the historical/cultural touchstones (the world wars, the African man who actually was kept as a zoo exhibit, Edgar Cayce, etc.)

Forrest Gump? Blah. This is much better.
