I loved this movie in college, and I'm not proud of that. I suppose it appealed to my edgy, nihilistic side. Half Tim Burton, half John Waters, with just a touch of Repo Man meets How to Get Ahead in Advertising... and all horrible. It's a "zany" study of incessant unpleasantness, serving only to repulse and annoy the viewer. I do have to grudgingly admire Rifkin's steadfast commitment to the aesthetic, but that doesn't mean I have to enjoy it.
