A superhero film that transcends the genre. Leave your presumptions at the door because this film has something for everybody. It's major selling point of course is Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker and rightfully so. There are few instances in film where you completely lose sight of where the actor ends and the character begins. Ledger pulls this off by fully engrossing himself in the role and as a result, he is nearly unrecognizable. No easy feat for someone of such notoriety.

How can you not love this movie? Although it was a bit too chaotic at times (especially at the ending); this has got to be the best Batman movie ever. Christian Bale is a great Batman, but in this movie he gets overshadowed by an incredible performance from Heath Ledger. One might argue that he gets this much credit just because he passed away but trust me, his part in this movie is pure genius.

I've been in the mood for some escapist fantasy, so this hit the spot. It's utterly ridiculous, of course, and despite the hype it does nothing to break free from the usual superhero genre trappings. But it's good fun and nothing in it really irritated me (a little long, though, I was checking my watch frequently towards the end). Christian Bale is boring as hell, but Heath Ledger makes up for it; not the amazing performance it's being hailed as, but more interesting than the average villain.

The entire middle of the movie should have been cut out and the ending redone. Nahh, forget it. Batman returns was way better. I got really really tired of the joker at the end of this thing.

It's engaging, thrilling, and well-crafted. Everyone turns in a stellar performance, but the top is certainly Aaron Eckhart as Harvery Dent. His is the most compelling story of the bunch, and I believe his to be the title character of the movie. It may have been a stretch to believe that every criminal in gotham had the same accountant and visually, Batman Begins was superior, however, the tone is effective and the score remains unmatched. Never have I so enjoyed the fight between good and evil.

It's too long. Let's get that out there first. And, yes, too dark (and I mean actually TOO DARK -- someone shine a light somewhere!). And, the usually fine Maggie Gyllenhaal does very little for me at all. But. The whole is more than the sum of it's parts. I watched this when I was six months pregnant, uncomfortable as all get out, and never once wanted to leave the theatre -- was even sad when it was over. The acting is, Gyllenhaal aside, so so lovely and the film is a pure rush!

one of the most over rated films of all time. that does not mean i did not like the film, but rather people believe that this film is the coming of Christ, which it is not. ledger steals the film as the joker and everyone else in the film is fine. two-face character is a bit much as well. good film but not a masterpiece.

Not my cup of tea, but I do give credit to the directors for pointing the gun at the audience and questioning the stereotypes and preconceptions we ally with one's status. That aside, great special FX and an interesting return to Batman's story lead to a poor sub par ending. The ending was weakened by the child's presence, a greater impact would have been drawn from it with less words.

Heath Ledger was the best thing in this film. His acting was great. Christian Bale wasn't that good (though he's a great actor) in this. Btw, there was no need to add Two-Face (he's the one that ruined this, too). The film was too long and it didn't feel like a comic book film. The score by Hans Zimmer wasn't that good, it was more like an expansion of the first one (this film needed better music). James Newton's score was good, though.

Just like Batman Begins: halfway there. The Joker-Batman relationship is excellently done ("The Killing Joke" being an obivous influence), Ledger is simply phenomenal and Bale does a very good job, even though the raspy voice gets annoying. The problems? First of all, the ridiculously over-convoluted plot and intolerable length. Second, all "deeper" dialogues work much better if they are subtle; this look-how-philosophical-we-are approach is stupid. A sledgehammer of a film: strong, but clumsy.

Hated "Batman Begins", but this is nothing like it. Great film. Fantastic pacing, good acting, and exciting action all made me suspend my disbelief. Only negatives are the God-awful shaky cam and the intrinsic absurdity of Batman not killing the Joker when he would save so many lives by doing so.

Very good movie, the actors where amazing. How joker's show us that we is simply insane, and just want's to see the world burn. Ledger made a very good and detailed aproach on Joker's personality, even down to details of him always passing his tongue on his mouth scars. Very good movie indeed!
