pretty much nonstop awesome

Heath Ledger looms of Gotham City as the Joker in a marvelous and most definitely eerie performance. The movie is action packed however could have been about 15 or 20 minutes shorter. The Dark Knight is a must see even if you would normally not watch something of its kind.

Easily the best super hero movie ever.

Best action movie out there and one of the few action movies I will rave about. Delves into the humanity of people and what it means to be a hero. Beautiful storytelling on all levels.

Best superhero movie ever!

Ledger's an incomprehensibly good Joker. Movie's real good on top of that--never a dull moment, save for maybe some of the excessive technobabble. Surprised and slightly disappointed by the later Harvey Dent bits, though; felt a bit rushed and tacked on.

Definitely an improvement over "Batman Begins," with more interesting themes, a driving narrative, and, in spite of its purported darkness, a greater sense of fun. The quality of the imagery is extremely high, although the action is still at times rather obscured by darkness and editing. It is without doubt a superior example of this kind of ultra-commercial filmmaking. Final opinion probably depends on the degree to which the viewer is willing to enter into the world and concerns of the movie.

One of the best comic book adaptation / superhero film I have seen. Despite the somewhat lame third act with the boats, this movie continues to hold up on countless viewings.
