What is there to say about this masterpiece that isn't so blatantly obvious upon a single viewing? Literally everything about this film is rock solid, giving you insight into just how a comic book movie can transcend its source material and rival that of which is considered a "classic." Heath Ledger in particular is a genius in this film, giving the performance of his short lifetime. People deserve a better class of action movie, and The Dark Knight gives it to them. This is an all-time great.

Very good movie, the actors where amazing. How joker's show us that we is simply insane, and just want's to see the world burn. Ledger made a very good and detailed aproach on Joker's personality, even down to details of him always passing his tongue on his mouth scars. Very good movie indeed!

Christian Bale is great as always, would have found a good counterpart in Heath Ledger (rip). Wouldnt know which to pick if i had to choose between this and Batman Begins, both excellent

Not the perfect film, but it falls short by just so much. Christain Bale's Batman voice continues to perplex, and some of the dialogue can seem a bit forced. That being said, Heath Ledger completely becomes the Joker to the point that it's frightening to watch. Also, where most movies follow a Rising Tension-Climax-Falling Tension format, Dark Knight more-or-less starts at the climax and never slows down. This film is not for the faint of heart.

Another great wedding of ideas and action for Nolan. Bale is more of a mystery in this one but Ledger is riveting.

The Joker and Two-Face steal the show from Batman. Though Bruce one of the boringer heroes, the comics do churn out great villains!

After watching this Batman, I went back and watched the the original Batman file. The whole thing seemed like a joke and so cheesy, almost as bad as the 60's version with Adam West. This is how Batman should be, Gritty and Dark, a definite improvement on the brilliant Batman Begins, Nolan has outdone himself once again

A great Batman movie. If the Joker's actor had not passed away, would it really have received the same level of acclaim? Fun, action packed, slightly edgy with Batman's behavior in the interview room, stupid "threat" for the movie's climax, but fun nevertheless.

OK, it's not the best movie ever made, that's true. But it deserves some publicity it's getting. Certainly one of the best action movies ever. And the Joker is just... exceptional. They say Nicholson played Joker, while Ledger became one. It evidently shows on the screen.

2 Criticisms: Batman's voice was a little overdone, and Maggie Gyllenhall was miscast. I don't think she looked the part of Billionaire Bruce Wayne's main squeeze, and didn't quite act like it either. Ledger/Bale/Oldman's performances more than make up for it. As far as I can tell, Christopher Nolan doesnt have it in him to direct bad movies...

Just like Batman Begins: halfway there. The Joker-Batman relationship is excellently done ("The Killing Joke" being an obivous influence), Ledger is simply phenomenal and Bale does a very good job, even though the raspy voice gets annoying. The problems? First of all, the ridiculously over-convoluted plot and intolerable length. Second, all "deeper" dialogues work much better if they are subtle; this look-how-philosophical-we-are approach is stupid. A sledgehammer of a film: strong, but clumsy.

Nolan needs to take a chill pill, dial it down a bit, and *stop* trying to cram 3 movies worth of material into one movie. The action, the main plot and acting by Ledger and Eckhart is top notch, but "Batman" sucks in this installment of the series, by setting a record of "unsaved people". They should have called the movie "The Almighty Joker" and not "The Dark Knight." On a side note, Bale's Batman is good, but he still can't pull off Bruce Wayne.

Genuinely terrifying performance from Ledger, even when he was being funny i was too scared to laugh. Absolutely fantastic film, never ever let's the story drop and is just fantasticly dark. Hits every mark perfectly. Only downside? Well... I can't think of one! So, I'm giving it a perfect score!

An incredible movie, putting forward interesting (and disturbing) moral dilemma's. The movie questions the good of our ordered society in interesting, fresh ways, by litterally having two oppossing sides of the argument duke it out on screen. What's more, Ledger's anarchist, chaotic Joker is the scariest, most impressive villain to grace our screens in a long, long time. A must-see.

I considered ``Batman Begins'' a strong action film but little more, and many have said the same about its sequel. They're bang wrong, though: it's a layered, complex and enthralling slice of atmosphere and suspense, and while it has several flaws they do little to detract from the thoroughly absorbing moral dilemma at the heart of the story. Ledger's Joker is devilishly chaotic, and his nihilism is the perfect foil for Batman's by-the-comic-book morality. Thoroughly excellent.

Ledger is an astounding Joker, and every scene he features in is pitch perfect. Unfortunately the handling of Two Face isn't as adept and the third act doesn't live up to the previous two.

Unlike many other franchise movies: the Batman series seems to get better. This is the best of all the Batman movies to date, probably because it is the most believable. It's worth re-watching 'Batman Begins' before viewing this film. Excellent performances with the exception of Aaron Eckhart.
