This is one of the most unpleasant movies I have ever seen. Long story short--we all die a slow death of radiation poisoning. The end. Fun movie eh?

We watched this in elementary school in the 80's. Ah the cold war, terrifying one child at a time.

Completely depressing and altogether terrifying, as it pretty much should be.

Hokey garbage for the rubes.

Second half quite a bit better than the first.

Not as disturbing as it used to be. The effects are pretty bad, but the hair and makeup people went hog wild. The dialogue and acting are mostly godawful, and make it a dead giveaway as a TV movie. Too much sappy music, also. I thought the scenes of the missiles being launched were unsettling, what a surreal sight that would be. Otherwise, kind of subpar.

Apparently I am the only one that liked this. Perhaps my innate fear of nuclear war prevented me from viewing it as "hokey"?

Stunning film for its time revealing the true horrors of nuclear war.

I cannot remember much but I watched it on television at the end of the 80s when I was a kid and I was terrified.

what should've been the ultimate antinuke flick was easily outdone by threads a little later. Nowadays this is just tired. the animation "When the wind blows" is also superior to this

Yeah sure it does show the horrors of Nuclear war, but so does the Fallout series and at least you have some goddamn fun playing those.

Remember wanting to have seen this so much because all the kids at school were talking about it. Rather a let-down when I did.

Effectively creepy film, but easily overshadowed by (the considerably more horrific) Threads.
