It's quite incredible how much Jones can do with so little, and Morley's voice is perfectly suited. While the script could use some work and the story takes a while to get going, it's all made worthwhile by the wonderful pun that finishes the whole thing off.

There are far too many ways to evaluate this: As humor, as math education (we were shown it in grade school), as a reflection on 60's culture, as a parable, etc. But however you look at it, it works.

One of the most handsomely executed of Jones's animated shorts, albeit without following through on its initially great wit and cleverness with any innovative conclusions. Good as it is, it doesn't reveal the greatness that an Oscar nod might imply, but what film ever does?

I loathe math, and yet I love this cartoon because it is math. Cute story, and has some very interesting abstract animation from Chuck Jones.

Mathematical shapes explained and shown in a simple and cute way. The moral behind the story is quite stereotypical, but I think of it as a good production for the kids.
