I can see why someone could be moved by this, and I did find it touching, but there just didn't seem to be a lot to it. It probably doesn't help that I found the main characters quite a bit less compelling than most people did.

Rather tedious, I'm afraid, and with a story that is quite obvisously going nowhere from the very beginning and that simply had to end in that "shocking" moment. Some remarkable acting, but really, you do need something at least resembling a plot if you're trying to make a film.
