redundant, but effective japanese horror.

Not an original story and it was kind of boring. Still the acting and the special effects were alright. Nothing too special as I feel this is mediocre Asian horror.

Some genuinely scary moments, but they taper off and the plot is terrible overall.

A mildly entertaining Honk Kong ghost story with decent acting and a solid if a little weakly executed story.

Yawn. I'm not a fan of asian cinema and this movie didn't exactly surprise me. It's just a variation of the same ghost story formula that practically every other asian horror movie uses, the same kind of scares and the same cheap effects. The twist about halfway through involving the breaking of a mirror really gave me some chills though, but that's not enough to redeem this sleeping pill of a movie.

Revelation trumps resolution in The Eye, which is to say the Pangs capture the tragedy of thwarted liberation in haunting, beautiful fashion without properly concluding their vision. Where they might have continued to spookily, masterfully accentuate Mun's purgatorial skewed sight, they instead run their concept of spiritual synchronicity into the ground. Worst part is that The Eye only almost has it.

I think the trouble with this film is that it has no mystery. Much of it is just a random series of ghostly apparitions that we learn little about and care about even less. Why is the old guy haunting a lift shaft? What's with the lady in the calligraphy class? "Oh, who cares, bring on the next ghost..." It picks up a little once the donor story is developed, but even then it's predictable as hell. The special effects are surprisingly dated considering it's only 8 years old.

It was good, but not nearly as scary as I had hoped it would be. Or at all.

Very intriguing. It gave me nightmares. :(

Definately has its freaky moments. But the plot got a bit tedious towards the end and then I stopped caring.

It's a big improvement over its American counterpart with the similar premise, The Sixth Sense: It's not silly and it has a disturbing scene or two. Still nothing to write home about though.

The best horror i´ve ever seen,but beware of sequel.

Has a cupple of screams but doesn't stay scary near the end.
