With a little more work, this could have become something great. However, it seemed as though it was attempting to cater to a cult clique that they were hoping would exist after 2000. And never did.

A highly enjoyable action-thriller that manages to avoid being R-rated while also avoiding being generic family-safe garbage. It has a fantastic bit of humour to prevent anyone from taking it is a super-serious action thriller. The point of The Fifth Element is to entertain and it delivers in spades. Hell, even Chris Tucker is hilarious.
