I like the idea, some characters and some scenes, but the story is complete mess. And music. Do I have to mention music? It's disaster. There is no drama, no pacing, no care of any of character.

Solid performances from Richard Gere, Claire Danes, KaDee Strickland, and Russell Sams can't save this jumbled mess. It's hard to follow and very forgettable.

Amazing how many otherwise talented Chinese actors/directors don't give a shit when doing Hollywood pictures, as long as they get the fat paycheck they never did back in HK/Beijing. This is a completely generic, predictable, potboiler suspense thriller of the kind they used to churn out on an assembly line in the 90s. Dull characters, a snail's pace, little action, and a drawn-out climax that made me want to go to sleep. Just an all-around bad flick.
