Summary: After causing havoc on the sales floor Charlie goes to the office floor. There he runs into the store inspector (who looks exactly like him) who has just robbed the safe and knocked out the manager. Charlie thinks he is in front of a mirror till he notices he holds a stock and his "image" the bag of loot. (Ed Stephan)
Grows a little old after a while, but some of the escalator stunts are humorous! Also the scenes of destruction towards the end are well choreographed.
A fun short from Chaplin. It includes some enjoyable sequences on an escalator that seems to be moving far too fast to be safe, but the best part of the film is when Charlie meets his "twin" and has no idea how to deal with it.
There is the famous escalator in the middle of the scene, a brand new invention of current time. Charles Chaplin is not that funny with it, but in the end he makes the ultimate escape/fight for the money scene where he uses the entire set the best possible way.
