Grows a little old after a while, but some of the escalator stunts are humorous! Also the scenes of destruction towards the end are well choreographed.

Same old same old. Charlie trades places with the store inspector, then people don't notice that the inspector is suddenly a few inches shorter. Duh

Seems like a combination of a few different Chaplin shorts mashed together to highlight an elevator.

A fun short from Chaplin. It includes some enjoyable sequences on an escalator that seems to be moving far too fast to be safe, but the best part of the film is when Charlie meets his "twin" and has no idea how to deal with it.

only one real gag, the escalator, and it's overused to the extreme.

There is the famous escalator in the middle of the scene, a brand new invention of current time. Charles Chaplin is not that funny with it, but in the end he makes the ultimate escape/fight for the money scene where he uses the entire set the best possible way.
