Not at all comparable to Hill & McBride's hysterical series Eastbound & Down.

Just the way Danny McBride talks in this movie kills me.

Off-kilter, weird, anti-correct - a great and really funny movie

Low budget often equals unfunny, but that's pretty far from an accurate statement about TFFW, which was cheaply made but very funny when the jokes succeed. Not all of the jokes work, but McBride is enough of a presence and his character is written in such a way that you're not thoroughly convinced that they're supposed to work every time.

This movie is good for a couple of laughs, but the last 20-30 minutes what really saves The Foot Fist Way from being a movie that's barely worth a watch. Those last 20-30 minutes are gut-wrenching and really make you feel for the lead character.

This film is a must see for all Danny McBride fans. It is very funny with most of the laughs provided by the lead character. The main character is outrageous and absurd but extremely funny.

Very obviously has many commonalities with 'Observe and Report', including their sense of humor which is based on awkwardness and the tragic. I understand what it's going for but when it doesn't quite get there as a character study then it needs to be funny - and there is a serious dearth of laughs.

Took me three tries to get all the way through this without shutting it off. It never redeemed itself.

A very goofy but rather amusing character study that owes 100% of its modest comedic success to Danny McBride. The prototype of the later brilliance of Observe and Report.

This is a film about an asshole who is a dick to kids because reality is not as good for him as the world in his head where his wife loves him and his heroes don't take his money and fuck her.

Danny McBride has made an unforgettable character here. Not much of a story, but that's not very important.

It's decent and Danny McBride is quite funny but it's clear that none of the supporting actors are really up to their roles, excluding the quiet kid who managed to overcome his confidence issues, he was very good. It's got some really great moments, such as the martial arts school bully laying out a senior lady, but a good portion of the film isn't that hilarious.

The Foot Fist Way is a Danny McBride show. He carries the movie for the first hour but the lack of good supporting roles starts to show more and more as the movie progresses.

It's really funny at best and McBride is good but the movie is in dire need of a good supporting character.

Definitely not what I expected, hilarious!

Plays out like an early prototype for 'Eastbound & Down'. The series is obviously more refined and has much more to offer in terms of a supporting cast but this movie is still damned funny, mostly because McBride wills it to be so. If the show is a story of an asshole struggling to find redemption, then this is one of a loser whose life is spiralling out of control -- they tie together nicely like that. Simmons is an even bigger idiot than KP, but McBride is just so likeable that you don't care.

A bit of an oddity that falls between comedy, drama and painful awkwardness. Watching Eastbound and Down before this movie might not be the best idea since McBride's character just makes such an impression in that show and makes him feel more subdued here, even though his performance is really good.

Jody Hill and Danny McBride write some dark, depressing shit. Marginally worse than Observe and Report and nowhere near as good as Eastbound and Down which is the best work Hill has done. I still can't help but be impressed with how smart this brand of humor is, even if the execution wasn't all there.

A pretty funny parody of martial arts instructors who take themselves way too seriously. I know guys just like Danny McBride's character. The ending is sorta cliche and it drags a bit in the middle, but there's lots to enjoy here if you like McBride's style.

SUCKED. Jody hill can not write movies. This and Observe and report are the stupidest things I've ever seen and he wrote them both.

As Jodi Hill's debut film it plays like a trial version of "Observe and Report". As if he wanted to see what would work and what would fall flat. Danny McBride is funny but has little to no support so when his jokes fall flat they fall hard.

Danny McBride takes the awkward character to another dimension. Some laughs, but overall disappointing.
