A strange, at times awkward little film. When Nicholson and Beatty are buying the rattkesnake, I was watching that scene for at least 40 seconds before I burst out laughing. That pretty much sums up my experience with the whole picture. The absurdity of the whole thing hits you after a short delay. Like what am I watching? What... Beatty's dressed like a snake charmer for Christ's sake, and Nicholson has the most ridiculous wig I've ever seen in my life.

It's okay, but I wouldn't watch it again.

My distant recollection is of an odd but somewhat enjoyable comedy.
