too much of the film was spent on creating atmosphere, so by the time the "monster" was introduced, i had stopped caring.

A good cast and gorgeously saturated color photography and set design make up for the unevenness of a screenplay that never bothers to explain far too many of its loose ends and asides to the audience. The opening, spoofing both _Halloween_ and _Psycho_, is very amusing.

A violent, freak-show horror that tries for black humour but misses most of the time; it sticks to the usual equation: teenage sex equals gruesome death.

Funhouses have always been a little sketchy, but now they're downright scary.

Man, this was disappointing. This movie had a good premise and some talent behind it. Unfortunately, way too much time was spent on the build up and not nearly enough on the payoff. The characters just weren't interesting enough to have a solid hour devoted to their development. And when the killings finally began, they were boring and dull. It's like the filmmakers forgot to have stuff happen.

Awesomely low-budget...lots of cheap, old fashioned devices that I love. And an opening scene loving ripped off of "Halloween". Good atmosphere.

One of the few good horror films Hooper made after Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Pretty cheap looking and standard, but some good scares.

Boring as hell. But at least it has some nice cinematography. What a shame that Hooper could never make another masterpiece like his debut, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Come on, Hooper, you're the guy who made Texas Chainsaw Massacre - you can do better than this! Still, a much better slasher than your average Friday the 13th.
