Fantastic imagery, great performances, my only issue is with the portrayal of Churchill itself which is uneven at best. Finney and Redgrave really deserve praise, a great odd screen couple.

The focus of the plot seems uneven at times, but Finney's Churchill and Redgrave's Clemmie are an absolute delight to watch. With Broadbent and Barker providing ample support in all the right places, this is certainly one of the best biopics of the PM: touching, exasperating and wonderful all at once.

Bloody marvelous. Rich historical detail, excellent portrait of Winston Churchill, plus a great human story of a small group of men who were faced with one of the most hideous and scary crises in history and somehow rose to the occasion. Much better than I expect anything made for the small screen to ever be
