This deserves to be better. Gassman turns in a fine performance. Grahame never fails to be awesome. It's got a good script with compelling drama and bitter desperation. Also some great jazz and some gorgeous photography. But small problems hold it back from greatness. Grahame doesn't get nearly enough time. The location work is juxtaposed with bad rear projection. The plot has a deadline element that feels very contrived. The good does outweigh the bad, but it's still a slight disappointment.
