in the vein of the ziegfeld movies it's simply a feature length collection of musical numbers and such. this is generally entertaining, and i did really like the music; but for some reason the best part is nagel and benny's hosting. (PS don't watch this for the keaton bit, it's nothing impressive.)

A lavish production to be sure, and it contains some good jokes and striking images, but there are a lot of lulls, bad songs and failed comedy that outweigh the bright spots.
