Summary: When Shelly, a Playboy bunny, is tossed out of the mansion, she has nowhere to go until she falls in with the sorority girls from Zeta Alpha Zeta. The members of the sorority - who also have got to be the seven most socially clueless women on the planet - are about to lose their house. They need a dose of what only the eternally bubbly Shelley can provide... but they will each learn on their own to stop pretending to be what others want them to be and start being themselves.
So, yes, it is formulaic and predictable and a little mindless. BUT, Anna Faris and Emma Stone are charming and more than enough to make this film enjoyable.
at the risk of sounding like a pms'ing bitch that never gets laid, i can't help but ask what kind of a self hating woman could write this script. It's like a jihad against the female gender in general, and individualism being the victim of the fallout. "Boys don't like smart girls" What the f*ck? It's also a crying shame seeing new talents like emma stone (whose transition from hot girl from superbad is great btw) and kat dennings pulled into this quagmire.
I find this very funny. Faris is so good and so unbeatable when performing silly girls. She craked me up! Whole plot is pretty predictable and stupid though.
lol I quite liked it. Faris can probably find a better showcase for her talents - but considering her talents are being very funny and having a smoking body, this is pretty good. She is truly excellent here.
Didn't expect much more than a mediocre, mindless good time but the script and direction is even dumber than the protagonist and less lovable. Anna Farris and Emma Stone are beautiful, funny, and charming but the editing leaves even them out in the cold at many times (especially Emma Stone) and the rest of the cast ranges from passable to atrocious. Fred Wolf must think there are a lot of dumb people out there who don't find his direction cringeworthy; unfortunately he might be right.
*** SLEEPER ALERT *** This is one of those delightful finds in the video stores--a movie you haven't heard that much about which turns out to be a fun watch. House Bunny is much more funny than Legally Blonde, and a little more sleek than Revenge of the Nerds.
