It's safe to say this is one pretty sick & twisted film, but that's what makes it so good. I didn't love it but I certainly appreciated it and I could see the direction Tom Six was coming from in making a very unpleasant film for people to watch. It had all the right suspense and while it wasn't as gory as I was expecting it was certainly rather uncomfortable to watch at times. It was also left with a rather open ending so I'm looking forward to seeing the sequel to see what happens!

Actually quite tense, due to the simply intolerable position the characters find themselves in. Anyone with a slight amount of empathy would be horrified ... but the film was spoilt by a stupid script, aweful editing, daft over the top "germanic" acting, pathetic policemen and ridiculous actions carried out by the centipede. I dont think I have seen a horror film so badly written and made, but based on a premise that actualy IS truly horrifying

An existential Japanese citizen gets his anus sewn onto the mouth of an American tourist who in turn has her anus sewn onto her female traveling partners mouth, all by a German doctor who resembles the feels good man frog. There's some connection to be made by having members from the main belligerents of WWII being worked into the script. But things go beyond Basterds convoluted when the Japanese character starts attacking the German in what ends up being a kamikaze mission.

The fact that this film even exists is so wrong, yet the premise is disturbingly fascinating. Pretty straightforward in its execution, but that doesn't make it less cringeworthy once the centipede-part begins. Once it's over you'll probably want to take a long, warm shower.

First off, this so-called "human centipede" only had 12 legs, not 100. And, where the real centipede can control 100% of its legs, the brain of this centipede could only control 33%. So, if anything, they should have just called this movie, "Shock Value movie with Japanese man and two topless chicks engaged in Coprophagia."

It's nowhere near as shocking or as controversial as it is often made out to be, or as much as Tom Six would like you to believe! I can sort of see why some might get a kind of silly comedy value out of it, but personally I found it completely pointless and totally without merit. Whatever your thoughts about its content and themes, there is no escaping that every aspect of this movie is utter shit.

Wow. Having just finished this, I feel quite dirty and am shocked that a) someone thought of this and 2) that it was actually made into a movie. I have to give it a favorable score because I would recommend that people see it since there's nothing else like it. Is it a good movie? If you think Hostel is a good movie, then this is a good movie; they are very similar.

The main character was played rather well but that's about the film's only redeeming quality, there is no plot whatsoever. It's a unique idea, yes, but unless you're into films with no plot and enjoy a general sense of discomfort at horrible scenes then give it a miss.

Not bad enough to be laughably bad and not good enough to be... Good. Just bad b-movie horror thats getting traction for its concept. A half-baked concept at that. The "surgeon" seemingly has no motivation and most of the even remotely interesting ideas behind the procedures are never explained. Just a lot of slow crawling and sunglasses in the dark.

Interesting concept of human centipede, or the "Siamese triplet", as the Doctor calls it. After the initial shock wore off, it was actually bit of a bore, for a while nothing happens at all. I was anticipating some new tricks but the director ran out of tricks/ideas. I laughed at times at the absurdity of it all. Characters are so dumb even suspension of disbelief couldn't cut it. Dieter Laser was great as the mad doctor though.

It had all sorts of hype and in the end it just turned out to be one big shock shlock. The only redeeming thing about this flick is Dieter Laser. The rest of it is just unlikable leads, idiotic main characters, scare scenes with no content, graphical body horror with no purpose, the works. The concept is genius for a horror movie but the execution (and story) is so catastrophic that you are left with your jaw on the floor, thinking "How did he fuck this up so bad?".

Tries to sail by solely on its gross-out concept without backing it up with any redeeming qualities. The generic plot and bad acting from everyone except Dieter Laser leads to much unintentional absurdist humor, which in the end is the only entertainment to be had here.

I was expecting it to be disgusting, based on the very concept. But what I didn't expect is that it would be boring. The most likable character shouldn't be the man who performs ass-to-mouth surgery for fun. This movie is the equivalent of watching a man take a shit for an hour and a half. It's gross and offensive, but even more so, it's predictable, tedious, and moronic.

The concept is pretty disgustingly nifty and is realised to it's sufficient justice in this glorious film medium. But everything around it is so stock: the performances and the dialogue of the two women is so banal, so it's fortunate they are soon forced to stop talking. The acting and script elevate when Dr Heiter enters the pick and, man, what a baddie he is. OTT schlock entertainment, sometimes funny, never scary, often stomach-churning. Once it finished, I did wonder why it had been made.

Inspiring film that shows that you can become famous just by putting out weirdest, grossest things you can think of. I wish this film wasn't so dead serious. For example a dance number would have made this so much better. The mad scientist - Dieter Laser - is awesome. Most of my rating is for his performance.

More like an art film than a horror film, Human Centipede is a weird and darkly comic, wince-inducing set-piece that thumbs its nose at Michael Haneke's Funny Games and Eli Roth's Hostel, frequently evokes Cronenberg and oddly presages last year's Dogtooth. Unlike just about any similar genre film you can name, there are no games played on the audience in this one: There was never any hope for anyone from the beginning.

Even if you just watch it for shock value, it's disappointingly tame. The only remotely likable character is the doctor, and most of the movie consists of muffled screams. Everything good about the movie is in the trailer.

Sharing the title of most disturbing film ever with "A Serbian Film", "The Human Centipede" is probably the most well known "extreme" film out there at the moment, the major difference between the two films however, is that "Serbian Film" easily earns its notoriety. HC feels like nothing more than a good looking retro exploitation flick with a disturbing premise, with hardly any gore on show. The only positive is Dieter Lasers phenomenal mad scientist performance, everything else is sub par.

not very suspenseful and quite sick, but it's innovative, i'll give it that.

Dieter Laser is cool, but the movie itself - boring. Not shocking, repulsive or violent - just boring.
