Fascinating film. The story-telling is not straight-forward, but like an Antonioni film, this one kept drawing me in wanting to know what was going to happen next. One of my favorites of that year.

An intriguing elliptical narrative kept me hooked through the mysterious first two thirds, but I found the last section somewhat of a letdown. It is full of memorable images, but the fact that the central character had isolated himself from humanity made it hard for me to care about him.

An absolutely beguiling piece of impressionistic filmmaking. I can only imagine it will become richer on repeat viewings as Denis' style (pushing the plot to the periphary of the film so that she can instead focus closely on individual details) is taken to such an extreme here that it's very hard to know quite what to latch on to in what could almost be called stream of consciousness.

This one might take a few watches to unravel. Mind you it's the kind of film I'd be happy to watch a few times. Mysterious and very well filmed.
