Turgid and contrived melodrama with poor plotting and featuring predictable yet unconvincing romance. The movie is set in 1976 with flashbacks to 1969-70, but it somehow seems as though the gap between the two times is far greater than six years. Toys with political themes in an uninteresting (if not indeed uninterested) way. Jordana Brewster is very attractive in the lead role.
