The art was nice but there was just way too much singing for me, and I didn't like how Mia Farrow voiced the unicorn. Or maybe I just feel like it's too dated? I remember watching it as a child and being very sad afterward. The story truly is heartbreaking. But I was in tears after reading the book, not so after watching the movie.

Amazing artwork weaved together with an amazing story, grounded in a basis of not wanting to be alone, nor be the last of your kind. It's a tale of fitting in, acceptance, and learning to have confidence in yourself. I loved this movie.

No where near as good as the book it's based on, but not bad for what it is. It's a haunting little story that's not, entirely, meant for children. The voices are well done -- but the animation's less than stellar, however, especially by today's standards.

Perhaps nostalgia influences my opinion, as it does for many of my childhood favorites, but this is a magical film. It deals with love, loss, friendship, and the line between the world of fantasy and reality with surprising maturity. The movie still manages to delight, occasionally scare, and move me to this day. I also dig the soundtrack.
