I managed to find this on DVD but the quality was terrible. I'd like to see a restored version of this move. I don't think it was as good as "The Cat and The Canary", but it's worth watching once.

Too similar to "The Cat and The Canary". Main difference is that action takes place in the theater instead of old desolate house. But the visual style of Paul Leni is very visible. Lot of camera tricks, interesting sets, imaginative use of intertitles - all that makes this film enjoyable. As for the story I would go with a remake "The House of Fear". It's a shame that this is the last film by Leni, and even more so that it was never officially released on video.
