Nowhere near the level of the series but a fairly interesting take nonetheless.

It doesn't compare to the brilliance of the series, but it manages to avoid being what I feared most from it, which is total fanservice. In fact all of the most popular characters are only given small parts.

Focussing on minor characters, the actors themselves and not even funny. The only bit that made me get anywhere near a laugh was "I just made a little brown fish."

I didn't know the League of Gentlemen, and I have no idea why I bought the DVD (I don't know why I do most things, hell, I don't even know why I am writing this review). Most gags may be lost on me, but what I got out of it was some fairly funny characters from 'Royston Vasey', and some rather indifferent ones from the dark ages. A mixed bag of nuts, as Herr Wolf Lipp would say.

Not bad but can only be considered a cash in on the excellent BBC comedy.

It was ok, better than the premise would suggest.

Unfortunately obvious that the League have got bored of their characters and their material, something that was starting to surface in the dark nihilism of the third season of the TV show. Still one of my favourite horror comedy series, but the movie was a travesty.
