Pretty good.

The main theme of the film is revenge, and whether it is worth the price you have to pay to get it, but the cast of characters is interesting too: the ex-con, the refugee, the odd shotgun-touting bargeman, all trying to eke out a life on (quite literally) the edge of society. It's noirish and moody in tone, has some lovely photography of 1950s Gravesend, and although it does slip into romantic melodrama once or twice, it's never anything less than engaging.
