A thriller about satanists caught in many of the trappings of its tradition, but still above average. It is elevated by stylisyic cinematography and a luxurious Jerry Goldsmith score. It may not be as scary as Goldsmith's cacophonous violin flourishes imply, but there is something interesting in the concept and an elegant subtlety, particularly in the cheeky ending.

All the seventies scary movie cliches are here: wide angle lenses, often smeared with vaseline, godawful lighting. It's redeemed a little by the total hotness of Jacqueline Bisset and a great discordant score from Goldsmith.
