Summary: In the Far East, trouble-seeking father-and-son duo Rick (Fraser) and Alex O'Connell (Ford) unearth the mummy of the first Emperor of Qin (Li) -- a shape-shifting entity who was cursed by a wizard (Yeoh) centuries ago.
Hated the son. Hated the new Evie. Wasted the talents of Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh. Just overall kinda disappointing.....especially since the first two were pretty good.
Quite different from the first two being away from Egypt, but still a thrilling ride and such an exciting film full of action. The cast has changed a little but Brendan Fraser is back as Rick, while Bello does a surprisingly good job replacing Weisz as Evelyn. The storyline is centered around an Emperor (Jet Li) in China taking control over his army once again. Its full of exciting action scenes, plus plenty of comedy and witty remarks also. Fans of the first two will surely be pleased :)
It is, as far as structure goes, a complete mess, and lacking a lot of the charm of the original -- but having said that, Bello does a fine job in the role formerly occupied by Weisz, and the balance of action and comedy (while undeniably cheesy in the extreme) is entertaining enough to keep you watching. By now, you should now what to expect from the Mummy franchise: go in suitably prepared, and you might just have a good time and a few laughs.
I almost switched it of, when the yetis started playing football with chinese henchmen. Yes, you heard me. It has yetis kicking field goals with chinese henchmen. It's no joke. Or rather: in the movie it is. Sadly.
