It's as easy as listening to the opening speech by Crisp to fall for this film. Telling the bittersweet story of effeminate gay icon Quentin Crisp, 'The Naked Civil Servant' is a half-tragic, half-hertwarming films that really stands out when it comes to made-for-TV films. John Hurt does the impossible once again, delivering an amazing performance as the very much queer Crisp.
