Summary: Leslie Nielsen stars as Police Squad's own granite-jawed, rock-brained cop Frank Drebin, who bumbles across a mind-control scheme to assassinate Queen Elizabeth. Priscilla Presley, O.J. Simpson, a stuffed beaver, two baseball teams and an odd assortment of others join the wacko goings-on and blow the laugh-o-meter to smithereens. (Paramount)

Hilarious. It just pelts you with joke after joke, and for every one that doesn't work another two do. Leslie Nielson is brilliant in a completely dead-pan performance.

An undeniable classic, although either through age or simply too many viewings it just doesn't have the impact it once did. Perhaps it's because I know the script off by heart or perhaps it's down to the number of films that have stolen from it over the past two decades, but only a few of the (brilliant) gags still retain the magic. It pains me not to include this in my top bracket but for the reasons why it still must be taken as a compliment.
